Nice sharp image

Thanks, Steve. I tried shooting with a shorter exposure and got sharper stars. I didn't get so many background stars as in previous images but this is my best shot of the cluster and it is one of my "project" objects this year.

Nice image Philip ? The Beehive does catch your dark adapted eye at this time of year!

Having looked at your image, I Looked up M44 in Skysafari pro and noticed a comet only 11 degrees away from it, you might want to have a bash at nabbing it with your camera, it is at mag +8.7

anyway here are the details if you want to pursue it...

It is comet:    P2010 V1 (Ikeya / Murakami)

skysafari pro 4 details...

Unfortunately, my tripod could not reach northern Cancer. I'm having so many problems with my new tripod that I'm now restricted as to how high I can reach.

The good news is that I caught M67 "on film" for the first time. I have a lot of processing to do.
