So what problems were you having with trails? is that the guiding or something else Rob?

I thought it might have been a guiding problem, I used to get a small trail in one axis that was driving me mad, couldn't cure it, then I started thinking about cable trails or mount affecting the movement, so I've looked at cables which are numerous but also noticed the ra axis was a little stiff so I've been brave and slackened it off a bit and touch wood it looks better.

Well glad you found the problem i had similar problems with the eq5...never did find a solution to it though

It can be a real pain to sort out a problem that can be caused by so many things.
