Quick way to find focus ?

Hi guys

I currently observe using my Meade LX10 SCT and use a Crayford type William Optics focuser.

when I want to changeover to imaging using my 450D I remove the Crayford focuser and attach the 2" visual back which has a Canon T ring incorporated into it.

My question is, is there a quick way to find focus for imaging ?

Are there any tips or tricks people know of?

I went through this with my C11 and Canon 350d some years back and tried masks, focusing programmes and found them either not accurate enough or just a big faff. I invested in one of these, it takes seconds to achieve accurate focusing.

Not sure if they exist anymore but they can still be found on the fleabay etc

Why dont you leave the focuser in place and use a 2 inch or even a 1.25 inch to T ring adapter.

This way you should be able to achieve focus with the camera using the focuser.

Thats all I did when using the 350 D
