So here are my offerings. I did the 1st contact comparison cos it wasn't until I started adjusting curves on the stacked image that I started to get the ring effect around the planet. I know these have been reported in the past during 1st and last contacts, particularly with Venus transits due to atmosphere but I think some have been seen with Mercury as well. However that doesn't mean to say my pic is the ring effect its more likely processing artefacts, but its interesting. I took loads of photos but they pretty much all look the same.
