Early retirement

I wlll officially be retired at midnight tonight ooooeeeerrr.

I couldnt wipe the smile off my face on my last day at work yesterday :D

I had thought long and hard for what I would say at my presentation and eventually chose to quote Douglas Adams from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy "So long and thanks for all the fish" there was only one there who got it. I had to explain the quote which took away its impact, philstines all of em :)

Im having a few months out of it all together to do my scope projects then may do a few days here and there consulting as and when I feel like it.

Got a ton of gardening and the much neglected house to sort out as well, 1st priority though is to get out onto Kinder Scout for a decent walk next week.

Phil (havent got to get up early in the morning anymore) j

Congrats

But at SGL7 we also spoke about the dangers of overdoing the gardening

don't go mad and try to do it all at once

Congrats Phil - I'm dead envious - this working lark seems like a never ending treadmill - it's good you finally got off it.

Wishing you lots of good health and relaxing, enjoyable times ahead :)

Really pleased for you Phil. You now have plenty of spare time to enjoy all your interests, and perhaps take on some new ones. Keep active and stay healthy. All the very best to you.

I would love to go up Kinder again, but don't know if my body would make it at the moment.

I'm allowed to retire from my job at 55 so if I take it up I've only got 10 years to go.

Cheers guys. My 1st day as a free man was spent pottering in the garden, a late lunch and a nap afterwards. Its a hard life :)

I think Kinder is out this week but I shall get up the peak sometime. We shall have to organise an EMS ramble sometime, should be good for a laugh
