Kirk Hallam Lakeside Festival Sunday 2nd July

Recommended Posts

This year we are again attending the kirk hallam lakeside festival on Sunday the 2nd of July to do some more solar observing with the public. We will have several telescopes set up with special filters to allow safe viewing of the sun.

This is always a busy event, and a nice family day out.

Please feel free to pop along and say hello.

The event takes place at kirk hallam lake from 12pm till 4pm.

Never look directly at the sun without the proper equipment and knowledge, ad this could cause permanent damage to your eyes.

Well that was a really busy day. Had some clear skies today and the sun played ball for a change. Just a shame there were no sun spots to look at.

We did manage to show lots of people the sun in white light and we had a good look at the proms on the limb in Ha. We also had venus on the menu for most of the day until it dipped behind the trees.

A very good event.
