Cannon 350 D

Graham

Recommended Posts

Well I have taken the plunge into Dslr imaging.

Bought myself a 350 D.

Can anyone enlighten me on what software I need to download to run this from my computer.

I have had a look on the Cannon website and there are so many downloads I am now completely confused.

I am running windows XP pro.

Alternatively if any one knows where I can get hold of a set of discs that would have come with this camera originally I would be most greatful.

Many thanks

Graham

I had to borrow my mates discs as the downloads won't work without the original discs already being installed.

I don't know if BackyardEos requires them, you could try a free trial after you get a serial cable.

Yup - that's what I found - you need the original disks installed to get the updates. I also found that if the 350D original software is installed you can get the full software for the 1000D from the website. So if you can borrow some disks to install, you're in business.

The drivers are included in the software and I imagine that any astro software would use them - certainly APT does :)

Hi all.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

I will have a look at APT.

I have downloaded Backyard to try out but it won't hurt to try them both.

thanks

Graham
