60mm light box

After completing a lightbox build for my 8" Dob a few weeks back, I've now consigned the 200p for visual only duties (as it should be). So as I had a few lengths of ply and opal perspex left over, I thought I'd make a scaled down box for my imaging frac.

I can't be bothered with the usual Heath Robinson flat-generating solutions  (white tee shirt and torch, waiting for sunset/sunrise etc) so opted for a w5w 12v led bulb powered by a standard pp3 rechargeable battery in a switched holder.

Much like my dob box, the unit simply slides in the end of the scope at the end of my imaging session. Nothing fancy but effective.

That's neat.

What are you using for the screen.

Two sheets of 3mm opal perspex back to back, Graham.

As its a 12v t10 bulb (albeit at 9v) its a fair bit brighter than my 6v 8" lightbox, which uses only a single sheet.
