I've now added a Skywatcher adjustable guidescope mount to one of the scopes so that I could line up the two images. I was a bit worried the mount wouldn't be sturdy enough, but actually it works really well. So here's the Rosette with my QHY8L OSC camera: and here's the same using my G2-8300 and Ha filter: The FOV's are slightly different, but not by much. Next step, working out how to combine these images into one. Clearly the Ha image has a lot more data. Keep you posted. I like em both, I like the colour in the first, but there appears to be more nebulosity in the second... and it seems brighter, more vivid... ? No idea how the combo will work out ? Ha mixed with Red to enhance the red channel: If nothing else, this proves that my new set up is worth persevering with.
