Decided that the mount is too heavy to lift in and out of the shed every time, so I'm building a small, light shed over the mount. The scope will be removed just leaving the mount to cover.

With a full size door one end, I can slide the shed off and put it to one side and push it back on after a session.  It has over centre clips to keep it in place and a hasp and staple padlocked door.

Anyway, started today and got the basic shell made, ran out of timber to finish the door and have not decided on the cladding material?

Doing something similar Ron, but opting for a 6 x5 man cave that will be on rollers. Design already passed off by the wife!

Might add rollers to this as I did at my last house. I will see what it's like to move when it's finished! I operate from the big shed behind, heat, radio, drinks etc etc..

Good idea Ron.

It is a bit of a lump to manhandle in and out every time.

Bit more done today, got the door made and the roof supports done. Ran out of time as we went to see Jurassic World at the flicks in town and a drinkies after!

Apart from mowing the lawn tomorrow should be able to crack on with it.

Not decided what to clad it with yet??

Cheers

Ron

Roof done, just so OSB or plywood to clad it and some small wheels to help me pull/push it on and off!

Right we are now on Plan C!

Plan A just slide it off on the wood rails.   Too hard!

Plan B use wheels and a rails to slide it off.  Difficult locating rails in the dark so no go!

Plan C use heavy duty hinges and just lift it backwards,  seems to work OK. Photo's herewith;

I will be adding the panelling a painting it at the weekend, padlocks on both sides will be 'beefed up' a bit too!
