Bassinghamobservatory Posted August 27, 2018 Share Posted August 27, 2018 Missed the Perseids this year but have been running my ASI120MM with the meteor lens recently. This is the only success so far from several hours of 8 second exposures. I don't have a weather proof enclosure so it only runs when the observatory is in use. Here is a tip if you have a problem with dew on the meteor lens. Wrap a band of thin black card around the camera barrel protruding just high enough that it does not show in the image. This traps sufficient warm air around the lens from the heat generated in the camera to keep it clear of dew. Since using this simple trick I have not had to resort to the hair dryer.
