There's probably a gang of 17/18 year olds already starting to ransack the house while we're away, or at best using it as a doss house!

If we get home at the end of the week to nothing worse than a dozen pizza boxes and a load of empty beer cans kicking around, then I'll be happy. ?

Some hardy people have been swimming in the rain today at 7 degrees with a strong wind chilling to the bone.

Yes, it is nice. You can enjoy it if you wrap up warm. We've not used the car at all since we arrived, and have walked miles. Yesterday was the only day with showers and luckily we dodged most of them and still walked 7 miles! ?

Sounds like you are having a wonderful time Pete. I love short breaks away, we always explore the surrounding areas so we drive a fair bit but always bird watching or taking photos. The have wonderful views from your bedroom Pete. Is it a hotel or self catering?

The Ivy House Hotel, Sandside. They call it a Boutique hotel. We had their luxury suite, a very large bedroom combined with a lounge area with large en-suite bathroom with slipper bath and walk in shower. Superb place to stay, can thoroughly recommend it. ?

Scarborough is a lovely place, like several seaside places in one. So much of interest there, busy south bay, quiet north bay, harbour area, quaint old streets, castle, great views, lots to see and do there. We were nice and central, so not too far to walk anywhere, and great exercise with all the hills, can't wait to go back. Might go for a job with the Scarborough tourist board. ?
