Wires all hidden that sounds good Graham, one thing I hate are wires.

Looking really good, how much weight do you think it will hold?

Don't know exactly but the bearings have a no bind rating of over a ton a piece.

So it should carry a quarter on a ton without too much stress.

Are you making the shafts stainless? With 60mm shafts I doubt if there will be any flex at all. This is going to be one monster EQ mount.

The shafts are 65mm diameter high grade steel.

They have to be as I need to make sleeves to fit the bearings.

The bottom sleeves will slide on the shaft to tension the bearings once assembled.

They will also carry the drive gears.

All will become clear when I make them.

I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing this come together. Looks like rock solid engineering. Keep the pics coming Graham. ?

Me too. The excitement is building piece by piece.
