Popular Post +Graham Posted April 14, 2019 Popular Post Share Posted April 14, 2019 Despite the weathers best efforts to ruin yet another day I managed to get the old scope fitted to the new mount. The drives turn really easily requiring the use of just 2 fingers to turn each axis. Couple of minor tweaks to do. 1 - As I designed this for the new scope which I have yet to build I am going to have to increase the length of the counter weight shaft as I cannot quite get it to balance as it is. Not much of an issue I will simply weld the extra length needed onto the end of the existing shaft, once the new scope is built I can simply remove it again. 2 - Roll up a light shield to go round the mirror cell. 3 - Give it another coat of Black to get rid of the old Red completely. All I need now is the Motors to get here from Heathrow so I can fit them. Run the wires up inside the mount and refit the covers properly. Then its fit mirrors and get it set up ready for its first light. In a Parked position. Once it is in use the position will be reversed with the weights on the other side of the pier giving me clear access for fitting the camera ect.
