Clip on Bahtinov Mask

Graham

Recommended Posts

Decided to see if I could make a Bahtinov Mask for my refractor today.

Downloaded the pattern and then glued the pattern to a sheet of 5mm thick Aluminium.

Stuck it on the mill and milled out the White bits from the pattern.

Rolled up an edge strip and attached.

Final result a Bahtinov mask that should push over the end of the Dew shield on the Helios.

Now weather it works or not remains to be seen.lol

Err, don't think that was a good idea : the pattern is designed specifically for the scope focal length and ratio.

Maybe have another go using this site : http://astrojargon.n...kGenerator.aspx :)

No Stephen I meant I randomly picked a download site not a mask.

I put in all the relevant details needed to get the correct one. lol

Pat looks can be deceiving.

I don't know quite how I managed it but I have made it to the size of the lens not the Dew shield.

I know shot to bits or what ???? lol

Never mind I can always make another one tomorrow. lol
