Dewed it Myself

Got myself an Astrozap controller off Pat and a Dew it Youself kit for the C9.25. Both came today so I spent the afternoon in the garage, (much to the disgust of the Management).

It all went together really well:

It warms up nicely and fits snugly on the OTA tube, just under the plastic collar surrounding the corrector lens.

I have a carry mat about to be sacrificed, so should be fully dew-proofed!

Should work well Steve, when the weather does get cold put the heater on low from the start, then you should be clear all night.

Very neat bit of DIY.

You could get some orders for those and have some more Saturday afternoons in the garage away from the boss ;) .

That looks like braided wire, very nice for keeping the finished strip flexible

I think I'll just leave it on the scope all the time - less chance of damage that way. It tucks in nicely and the lead runs under the dovetail so it should be quite safe.

Had to spend the day doing 'real' DIY as penance, so no progress on the dew shield today,
