Guest Steve Posted June 14, 2012 Share Posted June 14, 2012 Finally a vaguely pleasant day and an opportunity to get the Williams Optics Zenithstar ZS66 Petzval out. I managed a quick look at the sun between clouds with the Hyperion 8-24 with my homemade filter and Solar Continuum filter. On 8mm the sun nicely filled the view. And outside, mounted on my daughter's decent photo tripod The tin came with a watch once upon a time, and I've had it stuffed in a draw for years - I always knew it would come in handy! And of course, a picture with one of the cats! This scope is a brilliant size for grab and go or a quick setup when there are 10 minutes spare. Really happy with it. Guest Steve Posted June 14, 2012 Share Posted June 14, 2012 Well it makes everything go very green I've seen no sign of anything on the surface - other than spots that is! But there again there hasn't been much chance to play with it as yet. When I looked through the C9.25 a while ago the view was a bit dim so I couldn't really tell what was on offer with higher magnifications - I think I need to add more holes to my big DIY filter to allow more light through.
