backlash compensation when guiding on or off?

hi, when guiding with a guide camera and ST4 connection, does backlash compensations  that are programmed in the hand controller need turning off?

also should PEC be turned off also?

thanks

What mount?

I disable it in my AVX as phd2 has it's own algorithm.

I've had mixed results with guiding and PEC.

if guiding with ST 4 turn the backlash and the pec off otherwise it will keep over correcting and bounce back and forth as they will fight each other
