Great night on the spectroscopy trail.

Had a good nights run on the Spectroscopy tonight.

Using the 150 Mac and the ZWO 120 MC to capture 1000 frame AVI's which were then stacked in Registax, saved as TIFF's which were then processed in the RSpec software.

Changed tack a bit tonight by binning 2x2  to increase the Angstroms to Pixel ratio when calibrating. This gave me a much better spectrum with better defined absorption lines. 

 

Here are a few different stars to compare.

I will do some analysis on these after I have had some sleep.

Interesting Graham, I thought Mirach being a double would be bigger??

Similar type stars Steve, The differences get a lot clearer when you zoom into the graphs in the software.

Mirach is a red giant Ron, if you look at the spectrum most of it is in the red end.

It is a fascinating thing to do.

Like all new astro stuff it is going to be a very steep learning curve.
