hi,

I'm thinking of a new planetary eyepiece (or eyepieces) for my new Bresser MC127 Mak and I saw an advert on ABS for Ohi Optical Genuine Abbe Orthoscopic Eyepieces and was wondering if anyone had any experience or thoughts on these?

Hi Dave.

I actually have 2x Abbe Ortho eyepieces. I think they are 16mm.

(Both, i always buy pairs of eyepieces as i'm a 2 eyed observer!)

They are very small and light.

Anyway, pop over and take them away for a try out, and see if you like them.

Drop me a PM when you are ready 😀

Thanks Rob, I might take you up on that sometime.

I was wondering whether to convert to binoviewing myself. I've read a lot of good things about using two eyes although some people don't seem to get on with them. I thought maybe the WO version to see how I get on.

I personally would recommend the Baader Maxbright 2 over the WO.

Great value as well.

AFAIK Ohi manufacture most of the Abbe ortho's on the market, these are (and have been) sold under a variety of names.

This is my abbe ortho pair.

They are only £40 each iirc.
