October Report

Recommended Posts

It was an awful month. I missed seeing Mars through a telescope and the Orionid shower. In fact, I did not see any meteors and one maybe I snapped could just have easily been a satellite trail. Probably my best action was with the Moon.

Thanks Phil for that report. As usual i really enjoyed it.

Nice report Phil.

Loved that blue sky on the cassopeia/meteor shot. Does look like a meteor you caught to me. Could be wrong 🙂

As I did not take any frames before or after the one I took, I cannot say, for sure, what it was. I have learned that short exposures at high ISO (6 seconds/ISO6400) allow me to tell satellite trails from meteor ones. Satellite trails appear on preceding frames or ones after, whereas meteor trails only appear once. So the conclusion was inconclusive!
