Paul Tomo Posted January 17, 2021 Share Posted January 17, 2021 Hi all, I was wondering if I need a WiFi connection on dark sites, I used Stellarium on my laptop this morning while I visited the farm and stellarium worked. I didn’t use any other programs to see if they was working so I’m not too sure if I would need a WiFi connection. The first piece of software that I would need to work would be sharpcap, I could load my images for the night and then process images the next day or at a later date. Ive not used my EQ6-R Pro mount on a dark site yet and I don’t think I need WiFi connection?, all I need I think is a power cable for my leisure battery. If you had to have an internet connection, your only option would be to use a 4G or 5G cellphone connection, which could be frustrating to set up. tuckstar Posted January 19, 2021 Share Posted January 19, 2021 Connecting to your phone is a doddle. Just select hotspot and turn on. Search for WiFi with your mount and enter the code. I was wondering why Andy mentioned about hot spot and WiFi to the the mount that made me think you need WiFi.
