NGC 4565 Reprocessed in Pixinsight

This was my original image that I stacked in Maxim and compiled in PS 6.

I stripped the camera down this morning and cleaned all the filters.

After reassembling the QSI I put it back on the scope and shot a complete new set of Calibration frames.

Unfortunately I moved the Lum filter so the Lum Flats made the Lum Subs unusable so the following image is purely RGB now. ( With hindsight maybe I should have shot the new set first, but then I was going to clean the filters so I would have had to redo them all again )

This time I put the entire lot through Pixinsight to process.

The difference is amazing.

After the processing ( butchery 😉 ) I saved the 117.6 Mb final image as a 16 bit Tiff so I could put it back into PS 6 .

After a slight polish up to enable me to reduce this down to a Jpeg so I can post it up on here this is the final result.
