Can anyone tell me what I should get? I have normal finderscope on Newtonian wich is OK but struggle to locate things, should I get red dot finder or Telrad? Not particulary bothered on price. Also whichever one I get, does this replace the finder or is it an extra?

Telrad all the way :) you can have it as an extra, or remove the current finderscope plate and put the telrad plate in the same place :)

OK, I get the message of Telrad, but which one, the normal or the pulsing one? Not sure what that is!!

Does it fit on scope where finderscope is or does it have different attachment?

The pulser is an add on, and it's not worth the money.

It fits onto the tube itself, not the finder shoe :)

Telrad. I've tried both at the same time but the optical finder always ends up being removed

I use both Telrad (on a riser) and 9x50 RACI (right angle correct image). The raci is great for objects that you can see naked eye (like planets and brighter dso's). But the Telrad comes into it's own when you need to star hop and follow charts. Either or both is my recommendation :)

(I also use a multi reticle red dot finder - all depends which scope)

Feel a bit on my own here

Sold my telrad to a guy at the North Lincs astro club

Much prefer to use my 9x50 on the dob , and the tal 8x50 on the 8" Klevsov
