Solar eclipse (Annular) by Phobos on Mars !!

This cropped up on my timeline, and i thought it ought to be shared.

I've always been fascinated by eclipses so its great, remarkable even, to see one on another world.

In this clip from Nasa's Curiosity rover back in August 2013, Phobos takes just over 30 seconds to complete its passage across the solar disc.

I've also often wondered if Earth solar transits are possible on Mars, like we get Venus and Mercury transits on here on Earth ?

I guess they are possible, but probably very rare.......

I like that.  It would be incredible to see an earth solar transit too. Thanks for sharing.

great video, thanks.

Just think in 1000 years time or so people be planning to visit Mars to watch eclipses, that's if humans are still alive lol
