Qhy290mm playing up

My qhy290mm has been playing up lately it may be down to the driver or it may be faulty, it’s detected by pc and connects using phd2 or sharcap but isn’t capturing the frame rates hopefully it’s a driver issue, I’ve emailed Bern at modern Astronomy and he has emailed his contact at Qhy to see what they say , so I’ll wait and see may try and see if I have an older driver if all else fails and see if that works so in the mean time using my qhy5L-11c for guiding .

Progress tonight hooked up to my laptop and I have it working with a picture, though when connected to sharpcap I had a load of messages about connecting my auto focuser mount and filter wheel so I’m inclined to think there is an ascom driver issue as I’ve never had those errors come up in sharpcap before, so I’ll hook back up to my imaging pc and connect up my gear one by one and see what happens.

Never really liked QHY stuff due to the finicky driver issues that has always plagued them.

I have a '5' here that has never been used because it will not run with my other gear.

Tbh up till now never had an issue but have read of issues regarding drivers before.

I always fancied a QHY 8 or 10 OSC but after reading up on all the issues I decided to pass on them.

May have solved the issue ive managed to load the ascom driver which i couldnt before (dont ask ) in phd2 anyway its now working with the ascom driver rather than the Qhy driver which was working properly until recently so next outing i will retry ,i think there is a glitch in the qhy driver as it doesnt seem to crash until you start guiding .

QHY driver crashing is a familiar story.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the camera plays up once I connect the zwo camera into the equation, so yesterday updated drivers and the ascom driver for ascom 6.5 connected via phd2 let camera capture frames all working happy days , after collimating scope thought I’d try the qhy290mm connected then redone dark calibration , camera played up phd couldn’t get frames camera playing up , I may drop qhy an email see if they have any advice or maybe the driver needs tweaking but seems only to play up once I have the zwo in the equation.
