Had some interesting data from the National Schools' Observatory last year, and revisited some of them with updated Processing Fu. Anyway, whether I twiddled the knobs and pressed the buttons or not, these are pretty "up close and personal", it's M27 (Dumbbell Nebula) and NGC 6946 (Fireworks Galaxy), both imaged single subs in R, G and B using the 2 *metre* diameter Liverpool telescope on Tenerife. If single subs yield this sort of thing, maybe I should just move rather than getting bogged down with this "stacking" business eh? 😉
