Common blue?

Rarely see a blue butterfly in the garden but snapped this from a distance with my phone. I'm guessing it's a common blue?large.20220723_110054.jpg.d9bd06a5012f524f9062c47a1322e879.jpg

Yes, but it's about on its last legs, starting to get very woody.

Thanks, I guess it must be a male? (my butterfly book only shows a female which has broad dark wing margins)

Check the underwing pattern they are completely different. The only other butterfly that looks like the Holly Blue is the Small Blue but that's pretty rare and it's not one of them.
