If i'm out observing, and Uranus is up, its something i always have a look at.

In my scope it shows the tiny disc quite nicely and is a greeny grey colour.

Neptune on the other hand, i find hard work as its so faint with my light pollution here.

 

I no longer have the aperture or the eyesight to try and detect Uranus' moons.

A 300mm + scope is needed usually and a good clear sky and decent seeing.

There are 4 of them that can be seen : Titania, Oberon, Ariel and Umbriel.

I've never been able to spot them myself even when i had the Dob, and i tried and tried.

Have you (or anyone else) seen them ??
