New power box made as my first one was a bit bulky and had connector box I never used so redone this time ordering a panel that was pre wired with 2x 12v sockets , usb , voltmeter , and on off switch, fused. plus I added a 5.5 x 2.1 mm connector with 5A  fuse (@Graham is that sufficient fuse for the 5.5x2.1mm connector?), housed in a 6”x4” box , cost approx £23 for parts , little soldering required not my strong point I need another set of arms for that , anyway never burnt myself and connected wires using Waygoes and nothing blew up .

If the magic smoke did not escape and no burns while soldering thatts a success in my book.

BTW I usually burn a hole in my trouser leg when the hot solder flicks off.
