IDAS Stargazing Event – Erewash Museum, Ilkeston, Derbyshire on Saturday March 4th 2023

Evening All,

 

Just a quick mention that Ilkeston & District AS will be holding it’s popular Stargazing Event at Erewash Museum this Saturday evening (March 4th).  This free event starts at 6pm, and will continue until 9pm.  We’ll have telescopes showing members of the public some of the wonders of the night sky (weather permitting!).  Besides this, we’ll have a static display of Member’s astronomy photographs and drawings, and a number of presentations will be given during the night.  Members will be readily on hand to answer questions and give astronomical advice.  Here’s some more info:

This is our first Erewash Museum event for three years, so fingers crossed for clear weather!  🙂

Good Evening everyone,

 

Just a quick thanks to everyone who was able to come along and support Saturday’s Erewash Museum Stargazing Event.  While it remained cloudy for the whole event, at least it didn’t rain!

 

Beside the telescopes being outside, we had a good display of Member’s photographs and drawing indoors across the Museum.  We also had several power point presentations which seemed to go down well.

 

We had a total attendance of 285 at the event, which is not at all bad considering the weather.  Overall, a good night and I heard several say there were looking forward to coming to the November 2023 event; that’s got to be encouraging.  😊

Sounds like it was a success Mark, congratulations. It has been difficult for societies since covid hit.
