Great stuff Dave, literally and figuratively!  I must admit I am very fond of the LPS-D3 filter, having used it for astrophotography in my case. I understand that it is optimised to reduce LED skyglow as well as the rest.

I bought an Altair Quadband filter at the Practical Astronomy Show in Kettering the other month, but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

In some ways I miss the pleasures of visual observing, there is much less faffing about involved than astrophotography!

Thanks Mike.

We had our streetlights replaced by LED last year so I think that's why the IDAS D3 is now outperforming the Optolong L -Pro.

I did some astrophotography last weekend and I'll recount my exploits and mishaps on that soon 🙂

Sounds as though you had a good night. You’ve shown the myth ‘new stuff, cloudy skies’ to be wrong (occasionally). I like to hear when all goes well it doesn’t always work that way.
