Popular Post +Derbyshire Dave Posted June 12, 2023 Popular Post Share Posted June 12, 2023 Can't quite match the recent alligators, but whilst searching for orchids yesterday came across this slow worm on a path near Hopton in Derbyshire. Very exciting, haven't seen one in a lot of years. Red hot day, it was warming itself on the path. Then searched out bee orchid.. Fly orchid. Much rarer than the bee, Frog Orchid.. These are tiny only about two inches high and very difficult to find , Don't ask me why it's called 'Frog', unless it's the bulbous eyes before the flowers are fully open Common spotted, great markings on the petals. +Bino-viewer, +Stu, +Streetbob and 3 others 6 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We live in a good area for them, but very rarely see them, although we know people who have seen them in their garden.
