Iris Nebula in LRGB

Great images Rob. For some reason the Iris has never been an object that I've liked looking at but your images could change that. Love the canvas 🙂

Thanks Dave - I am currently awaiting a (matte) aluminium print of my Crescent Nebula picture. Just deciding which medium works best for astro. Don't want it too reflective for such a dark subject matter. I am ordering so many of these things though that some might end up for sale on eBay!!

Do you mind me asking how much these cost? I am thinking that something like these would make good prizes in the DDAS raffle that I run at our meetings.

No problem - I have been using MyPicture after dabbling with a couple of other providers. They have discounts on very very regularly so you need to join their newsletter mailing list otherwise they are *very* expensive IMO. Both are 80cm x 60cm (other sizes and aspect ratios available), and the canvas cost £20, the aluminium print is £35 but I added a mounting frame at the back for £10. You pay no postage over £49 so I inevitably end up adding bits on to take it over that to save a bit and get something for free, effectively. I'm not on commission in the slightest but I think they do a great job, I would definitely be wary of how different a printed picture comes out versus what it looks like on screen, however. Print is pretty unforgiving and I've had some fairly disappointing outcomes before now...

PS - without the discounts they are significantly more, eg. the aluminium print would be something like £115 plus £10. Worth waiting until they send the email with the offer you actually want.

PPS - I would happily offer any of my images to use for prizes if of interest!

Thanks Rob, I'll look into that when I've got some time, and thanks for the offer, I may well take you up on that 🙂

That's very nice! I liked your previous dusty one as well. Hoping to start getting some print worthy images when the nights roll in.

That looks superb Rob 👍

Cheers. I might have to get something in gloss aluminium as well. I'm really keen to see what the difference is and which medium works best with astro subject matter...
