Great result Mike, i like them too.

If only we could see NGC5139 from here......

Cheers Rob. I once saw NGC 5139 (aka Omega Centauri) from the desert in Egypt. Through binoculars it looked as good as M13 through a small telescope! Yeah, pity that its below the horizon from the UK!

I last saw it (Omega Cent) from Cape Verde islands - about 15ºN , so you don't have to go THAT far south. It was well placed in the sky.

With the naked eye it looks a bit like Andromeda does from a dark site - a distinctly 'fuzzy' patch and just an amazing sight through binocs / small scope
