Old astro images

Hi folks. Having only crossed the event horizon of imaging a couple of years ago, I'd be interested to see some early images from the more seasoned astronomers on here. I'm curious as to how technology and people's abilities have progressed. Any images and a bit of background would be most appreciated 👍

I can write more later, but I think the biggest jumps for me were auto focusing and processing. The former can be bought, but the latter is a long and painful journey, certainly in my experience!!

OK, it's not necessarily images from people on EMS, but if you check out the gallery pages of the Derby & District Astronomical Society at http://www.derbyastronomy.org/Gallery.htm  and in particular the deep sky ones, you can see how things have evolved over the past 20 years.
