A bit more info on the Orion site. It mentions having to use longer exposures than the 294 which is also available for this camera.

The 294 is a different sensor , so you looking at an adu of around 12k , the 294 gave a lot of people headaches with flats hopefully not the case for yours , maybe ask the question on Astrobin forum that may get you an answer.

A hint on the Altair site says to aim for 2089 in APT when using a 12 bit camera. So I'll give that a whirl at some point. Also ordered an LED flats panel for more control and consistency.

I've noticed that the help section for the APT flats aid suggests setting the target ADU to 20000 for 16 bit cameras and 5000 - 6000 for 14 bit cameras, so by extrapolation it would be 1250 - 1500 for 12 bit cameras. But Altair should know their cameras so around 2000 seems a safe bet.

Finally I think I've cracked it. APT flats aid actually worked and created a plan. I wasn't sure if the Flat Master was going to work as I had to put it on the lowest possible setting but money well spent I think 😁
