Popular Post Bottletopburly Posted March 31 Popular Post Share Posted March 31 (edited) So after much deliberation on a new scope I have bought a used immaculate William optics Redcat v2 complete with carry handle and an zwo Eaf adapter also upgraded bahtinov mask and when I say immaculate it’s like new used 3 times from a lovely chap from Northampton after he upgraded to a Redcat 61 now he tells me the optics on the v2 is even better than the v1 and v1.5 in his opinion, and having sent his setup to Spain was selling gear he will no longer use , I’ve gone for the redcat as it’s more widefield, so now just to pick up a zwo Eaf seeing as it already has adapter fitted and I need to make a losmondy plate from acrylic to mount on my Eq6 as it doesn’t have the dual puck Edited March 31 by Bottletopburly +Stu, +Glafnazur, +Streetbob and 4 others 7 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I didn't know they had a '61' version as well as the '71' Yes rob the R61has 300mm fl , R71 350mm the pricing is quite nuts going from the R51 to 61 though , George went for the sweet spot with the 61 and also a samyang 135mm now residing in Spain , he did say he has imaged more in the last 6 weeks than he did all year in the uk 🇬🇧. Yes rob the v3 has a totally different focussing system, no vignetting and a normal focuser as opposed to a helical design, George did say he wouldn’t go back to a helical the new system is really good , the v3 51 is £850 the 61 then nearly doubles in price I don’t get it , makes no sense does it really cost that more for a lens 10mm bigger 🤷🏻♂️. +Bino-viewer 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
