3D printer design software

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I'd like to create a couple of bits for my imaging gear that aren't available to download anywhere. I had a play with Tinkercad but it's a bit too basic for what I need. Can anyone recommend some software (preferably free) that's suitable for a noob but with more functionality than Tinkercad?

I did try and use Fusion 360 at one point, think I mentioned to you, but jeez, what a learning curve!! Whether you can get it free I'm not sure - I was able to get it through the "educator" programme or something like that.

@Bob Dobber I'll have a look. I don't really have time for steep learning curves at the moment. I might even be able to bodge a couple of separate items together and modify them if I can figure it out, rather than design from scratch.

Have you considered FreeCAD?

I haven't seen that one, I'll check it out 👍
