Popular Post Bob Dobber Posted April 14 Popular Post Share Posted April 14 Acquired an Askar FM135 astrograph a few months ago and finally plucked up the courage to attempt to attach camera, filter wheel and OAG to it!! Not totally plain sailing and despite a brief mayday call to Dave of this parish (Glaznafur!) I did find a dovetail that I had lurking around to be able to attach it all to "something" that would actually fix to the mount, which itself looks seriously underloaded! Anyway, managed to get it all working, including the Deep Sky Dad autofocuser, which was surprisingly pliant, and got 4+ hours on the Dark Shark Nebula (turn out the lights to see anything!) and then a bit of sun this morning using a solar filter holder I knocked up in Tinkercad and then printed. I also printed some white caps for the end to allow me to shoot some flats, and also a cute little dew shield. All together now, ahhhhh 🙂 Hope you like! I see what you mean about the mount looking underloaded 😄 It's actually massively unbalanced in Dec without me fabricating or finding some spacer blocks to lift it off the saddle a bit, but the relative light weight of what's sitting on there doesn't challenge it one bit.
