First off, I must say a big thank you to PhilJ for his years of judging the photos, Its a hard job and some tough decisions have to be made. So, bear with me, trying to pull it in takes me some time. If anyone fancies taking the role up let us know, but for now I'll try to post this as early in the month as I can. So without further ado...... Comets, Asteroids, Meteors & Meteorites Just the one from Ibbo this month, Pons Brooks or a comical comet. Deep Space Objects An updated M82 with more data from Ibbo, Another take of the same object from Derbyshire Dave, Bodes and the cigar. Messier 16 - the Eagle Nebula from Bob Dobber. The Whirlpool galaxy from Derbyshire Dave. M101 Reprocess from Bob Dobber. Eyes Galaxies & Friends from Stu When is the Leo Triplet not a triplet? another one from Bob Dobber. NGC 3718 & Friends from Ibbo. Another from Ibbo. A scruffy M51 M101 from Ibbo. M3 widefield from Bottletopburley. Thats it for DSO, a nice selection. Luna, A couple from Phil Jay. And a few From Astronomer Reinvented. A few Sketches of sun spots also from Astronomer Reinvented so I'll lump these in with the Solar section. Some white light solar from Astronomer Reinvented. Some HA from Ibbo, Sol 24-3-24 Ha (the reprocessed version) Sol 21-4-24 Magellan boy Total solar eclipse. TSE 2024 - Partial Phases Before Totality TSE 2024 - Totality Additional phone photo with Venus. TSE 2024 - A Diamond Ring Nothing in the widefield section this month so thats the full list of photos for April. Details of photos will be on the associated thread for those that like all the info. Difficult to chose a winner this month, as ever, some of these are worthy of APOD, but i think, just for the novelty, it has to be Megellan Boy and his series of solar eclipse photos. Well done to everyone who managed to capture some photons and keep up the good work.
