Petrol, from air?

That's the second such thing I have seen on this. I recall seeing something on the TV where a massive solar array was being used somewhere in a US Desert to pull petrol from the air. You have to wonder though, if it did become financially and physically viable to produce petrol in this way, would there be some side effect to the environment by removing so many elements from the atmosphere? Afterall, in the begining we never considered the knock on effect of using fossil fuels, nor did we appreciate that we would ever run out.

To my mind the future is in hydrogen cells. Hydrogen cells work on witchcraft though

I guess the issue here is the balance of greenhouse gases and non-greenhouse gases.

The Earth also has a natural cycle - one that we're interfering with already through the burning of fossil fuels, and which might be further impacted by this.

Being cynical and a bit of a conspiracy theorist on these matters I'd expect one of the oil giants to buy them out and we'll never hear about this again lol.
