Looking at the weather forecast for Saturday, I should say we will have more time for discussion than starwatching!! So, thinking caps on everybody and lets sort out the name and a dark site if we can while we are all together!??

Ron

What time are we meeting ? I'm in lincoln in the afternoon so won't get there before 8

Well Mark wanted to be at Gib point for 4.30 to set up before it got dark, BUT weather forecast is pants for Saturday (rain most of the day and evening!)

I'm going to check the weather on Saturday, if it's OK I'll meet Mark etc at 4.30 ish but if it's raining I will come over for 7 ish to the watering hole Hotel (forgot name!) as we need to discuss stuff anyway?

Cheers

Ron

If todays forecast is anything to go by i will wait and see. Today and this evening should have been wall to wall cloud, it has been clear as a bell since 3pm and still is!!

Best bet is to check on here on Saturday for an update.

Forecast doesn't look good, if it does change and looks like being clear I'll arrive early, otherwise I'll meet up later

Have you seen the PM about meeting today Paul?

Mark and I will meet at Gib point 4.30 ish , depending on the weather we will either set up or wait till we see you and Dave.

If necessary we could go for a drink and a natter and see what the weather is like after that??

Cheers

Ron

Have PM'd Dave, Paul and Mark re: possible Dark site at 53 08' 16.63"N 0 00' 45.95"W

It's! where a road crosses a WW2 runway, there's a hardstanding area but no facilities!

It's about 3/4 mile of the A153 near East Kirkby (RAF museum there)

See what you think??

Sorry I did not make it last night guys, a combination of a banging headache, back late from Lincoln and work this morning meant the lure of staying in the warm house was to much. Did you have a good evening ??

You lightweight, you should be ashamed. :D

Yes it was a good evening but we all packed up before 10pm as dew and cloud got the better of us.

Better than some Dave, cloudy to start with then very clear for an hour or so then drifting cloud and the temp dropped quite a bit! I spent most of the evening tutoring a newbie with a 130p synscan, can't remember his name (Mark or Paul will!) quite a few meteors and good views of Jupiter. Left about 10pm, stopped twice on the way home to look at M42 at some dark places at the roadside!! Secutity lights were bad last night, we must find a new dark site asap I think!

Cheers
