Nice shot Paul. I have a rookie question though, only just started! Have you enhanced the red in the image? I never seem to get that sort of colour?

Also should there be any more nebulosity around the image as I seem to be catching glimpses of something in the image (large halo around pacman) that I can't seem to make out.

Sorry for the idiot questions but

Hi Sheila,

I haven't got a fluid workflow going yet for processing - every image has been processed slightly differently.

I am slowly edging away from a completely black background and nebulosity had, in the past, been clipped away in previous images. I've seen other Pacman images showing more nebulosity than my image here so obviously it is there.

Regarding the colour, well I do the usual colour balance - background calibration - stretching - DDP (Nebulosity3) - curves - saturation - star sharpening and a median noise removal. This is with Nebulosity3 and tweaks with GIMP but I do have PixInsight which I am still coming to grips with.

For this image, the red started showing faintly after stretching with an increase after DDP/curves. The saturation boost finished it off.

Hope this helps Sheila. If you would like my FIT to play with ( ) I can upload it somewhere.

Regards.

Hi Paul yes i would please as I use DSS and photoshop. I have nebulosity but not used it yet, but dont have the other stuuf you mentioned.

I always like to practice with more data, so if you can upload I would be very grateful. :D
