Hi Dave - welcome to EMS :)

That's a very good approach - learn the sky first. I too have the Celestron 15x70's and they're not bad for the price. Hope we see you at a meeting soon. Enjoy the forum :)

Hi Dave.

Your not too far from me in sunny old Hucknal - lol.

Welcome to EMS, were a cracking bunch with some really clever people on here, so your in good hands.

Any questions, fire away in the relevant section and somebody will be along to help soon.

Turn left at Orion is a really good book, not got it myself but people have been raving about it, another thing for you to look at (it's free to download) is Stellarium, a cracking bit of free software that will help you view, learn and explore the night sky, lots of us on here use it, some even to track objects with their scopes......

http://www.stellarium.org/

Also, good choice of starter scope, a dob will make you learn the night sky, and 10" of appature will help bring out those faint fuzzies.

Keep an eye out in the announcments section - there are always notices of meets going off at one of our two dark sites, your first visit is free to each, to try them out, if you like it after that, £20 a year for unlimited access!

Welcome to the forum.

Hi Dave, a warm welcome to EMS.

You have made a good start already, I have a similar pair of Revelation 15 x 70 bin's, and they are great value for the money.

M44 is my favourite through them, it just fills the view.

TLAO is a excellent book, and will get you some good viewing, have a look at this, it's just for Bino users.
