I think I have already seen cooling DIY mods to canons.

May have to conseder modding my 50D too LOL

Interesting indeed. I am speaking with Olympus atm with a view to IR filter removal on my existing E5 system. Natural colours are the focus. I can deal with noise/cooling but admire Canon for their R & D. Sensor dew removal is nice but no camera will prevent external dew when air temps drop to dewpoint temp....I have my own DIY dew shield for this mind :-)
