But it promptly got destroyed by a group of meddling rebels. So they built a new Death St-- BOOM! Damned Ewoks. Remind me, why was the construction of such a ridiculously huge planet killer deemed a "good idea"? It certainly wasn't cheap! Anyhow, for some reason, there's a White House petition entitled "Secure resources and funding, and begin construction of a Death Star by 2016," so someone thinks it's a sound commitment of resources.
