M42 reprocess

No sky to work with so I'm playing with new processing software.

Much better control of the core without losing surrounding nebulosity.

I don't remember exactly the integration but something like 7x150s ISO800. It is old data so another run is on the cards.

Thanks for looking and comments very welcome.

Regards.

Martin, It's PixInsight.

HUGE range of tools - most of which I'll never use

The gradient remover (DBE) and noise reduction (ACDNR) are especially useful.

Yes Mike - by 98 pixels  :)

Very good young man.

It wasn't a full reprocess tbh. I kind of liked it as is. A zoom-in will show eggy stars as this was a run before I started guiding.

Apart from, eventually, adding narrowband: I'm not a lover of composite images. What I lose in the background I will gain in the cores of brighter targets and vice versa.

Regards.
