Laptop via battery power?

Doc

Recommended Posts

At star parties I've always ran my laptop from the mains via a EHU, my question is if I run it from one of those 12v adapters via a battery will I notice any difference.

Will it still run exactly the same way, or will it be slower. What happens as the battery runs down, does the computer get slower?

The lap top is a ASUS Eee 19v 2.1A and the battery is a Baz battery 12v 38Ah.

Mick, you will only draw around 40w on charge. The rate that your laptop/netbook uses it's battery will depend on the power scheme you have chosen to run. If you do not need it running at full tilt then make sure you have the display as dim as you can and choose a low cpu rate, you should also be able to stop the hd spinning too!.

One of Baz's XL batteries will be absolutely fine :)

Cheers
