Have to agree with all the comments above, really nice image and the core is showing good detail too with the Trapezium visible. If you don`t mind me asking, is that why you have combined shorter exposures with longer ones, to help bring out core detail? Or is that another processing matter altogether?

Mark you have got it in one the shorter exposures where layer masked in (Thanks Olly) so the core was not too over exposed


 


Tell Bec it might be a certain dog with a long pointy snout :D

That is good to know Steve, thanks and i may well try that myself next time i attempt to image M42, :)

Shows lots of promise.


Now the horrible bit - Its a bit blurred, maybe too much Gaussian blur when blending, makes it look a bit false for my taste.


Its tricky which explains why I haven't even pointed my camera at M42 this year!
